Jan Eliasson, Deputy Secretary General of United Nations, is a “worried optimist” in the face of conflicts and challenges on the global scene this autumn 2014. In his position as number two in the UN organization Jan Eliasson performs his leadership with “feet on the ground” in hot conflict zones around the world but also among diplomats and heads of state at UN in New York. In an interview – on the 38th floor of the UN headquarter in New York – with Gaia Leadership´s Claes Thorson the DSG of UN reflects upon his own and other´s leadership capabilities.
